In 1994, she joined the U.S. Navy as a Psychologist and was honorably discharged as a Navy Lieutenant Commander. Since then, she has worked as a Psychologist, Adjunct Professor, Program Developer, and Consultant in both large and small organizations. She has taught classes and workshops, published numerous articles, and been an invited lecturer on topics such as Change Management, Professional Development, Leadership Skills, Stress Management, Goal Setting, Emotional Intelligence and Transition Management. Sandra is the first born child of immigrants from Haiti. Her parents barely knew English when they arrived in New York in the late 1960s. They earned as much money as they could with odd jobs like keypunch operator, clerk, and taxi driver while it was Sandra’s responsibility to understand the American school system and help her younger brother and cousins get a good American education. Sandra worked several jobs to pay her way through college and graduate school. She obtained her B.A. in Psychology from New York University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology from Alliant International University in San Francisco. All of this responsibility from such an early age left Sandra with a desire to enrich the lives of others by helping them learn to live better. Sandra now lives in the Denver Metro Area of Colorado with her husband, son, and 15 year old cat. |
